Will public and private reactions to #Google's Friday decision to permit 2020 U.S. election denial videos -- of the sort that led to the violent January 6th insurrection -- return to #YouTube be reversed by Google after such videos begin appearing again?

Sucks because now I gotta figure out how to replace Google: drive, gmail, calendar, voice, etc.

@mcnulla @lauren The really bad part is there's replacements for all of them that aren't that hard to set up individually. It's automating the whole process so a non-techie can do it with one button-click that's the real challenge. That and getting them to pay for the hosting. The smallest Linode instance will handle all of it fine (modulo storage space), but it's a monthly bill.

@mcnulla @lauren Though once the automation was done, there might be a business in running a site that set up the account at Linode, did the deployment and provided a 3LD for each customer so they don't need to handle their own domain and DNS.

@mcnulla @lauren I've been working on pulling stuff out of Google for a while. I don't see being able to do it fully for a long time. I use Android, and I have family that uses them for calendar and email. I keep checking on the state of foss phones, but I don't see that as viable any time soon.
