This attitude of "We're not going to develop on this IP because it may be unprofitable, but we're also not going to sell the rights to it in case it has a sudden surge in popularity" from big publishers is frustrating

I get why not develop it, but not selling it for the vague chance of losing a possible future trend annoys me

That was an interesting stream of American McGee's Alice (2000)

Ran into a game breaking bug early on in Beyond the Wall, and ended up having to level skip to Skool Daze but it started with zero weapons. I was able to proceed but it meant I didn't have the vorpal blade for the entire game (and didn't get the cards until /much/ later)

This created some challenges, the blade is the only ranged weapon that doesn't require will. It also created some odd effects.

Normally when you dive in water you are switched to the blade, but instead you're locked to your current weapon. The croquet mallet actually makes fish less annoying, but most interesting is the ice wand. If you use this underwater it freezes you similar to being hit by a phantasmagoria. This iss almost certainly an intentional mechanic, not a bug, obviously unused, but probably intended at some point, and I think that's a neat discovery!

(I also still managed to finish the entire game in one stream!)
