I just want to show you why Bitwig Studio is such an awesome DAW and why it might be worth a closer look. You’ll also get a sense of why so many people who use #Bitwig totally love it.

One more awesome thing Bitwig does, which I alluded to but I don't think gets enough praise -- it lets you route virtual instruments and effects in all sorts of amazing ways. Basically, you can route bits and pieces of sound through other bits and pieces, which lets you craft sounds that I can't imagine getting to in any other way.
I LOVE my hardware studio, but #Bitwig is a powerhouse for creativity. I should be using it more often to at least create samples.

@arendleejessurun @dhemery If I were making music only or mostly in the box, #Bitwig would definitely be my top choice. It is extremely cool.
@arendleejessurun #Bitwig, like many DAWs, offers a nice suite of builtin instruments and other effects.
Unlike many DAWs, it offers an unique, versatile modulation system and the grid (a unique, versatile, modular construction kit with lots of useful modules).
@graves501 @d3Xt3r basic proof of concept achieved. There is sound and it was relatively easy to install #LinuxMint #Chrome and #Bitwig - thank you.
Running a sequencer with a MSEG envelope works out nice, the editing especially.

#LinuxAudio journey so far. I want to make #music on #Linux - it has not been an easy transitional process so far. I am now on my 4th iteration of #Ubuntu - this time with 25.04 (24.04 Studio was glitchy, 24.04.2 LTS would not install, 22.04 would not play audio from #Bitwig). Each iteration requires 2-4 hours to set up and test, but this is getting a little quicker with each cycle.
It has been challenging, but I am both stubborn and determined.
#Linux #BitwigStudio friends - I am feeling very thwarted and vexed.
Apparently there are issues with the #Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS installer that makes it crash with the WSoD on boot from USB installer.
After many hours of rebuilding installers I have now got Ubuntu 22.04 LTS installed. It takes a longer time to boot, but feels smooth and responsive to interact with - however - there's no audio options in #Bitwig - PipeWire, JACK and ALSA all show nothing.
There's system audio, just not Bitwig.
My Problems with the Bitwig Connect
EDIT: Gone. Congrats @WiteWulf

A day inside ‘cause the weather is so up and down today so attempting to refresh the old #Surface with an #Ubuntu install and hopefully keep the touch screen available (an additional step so I believe) so I can still have fun with the slidey keys in #Bitwig. There’s a sound in there that nailed #Orbital ‘s #TheBox and also a distorted slide guitar that was always good fun trying to replicate newer takes of #OneOfTheseDays by #PinkFloyd. Here’s me putting the ‘B’ in The Box. It’s not vibrato sensitive so god knows what my digit is thinking but it felt natural to give it a wobble! This is from a few years ago, I hope I don’t brick it!

Yo, the Bitwig integration for the Melbourne Instruments "Roto Control" is out in beta. "Feeling" a parameter change, is really something. I hope more controller vendors go this route.
