Grateful for the opportunity to speak with Computerworld’s Lucas Mearian again, this time about the very real risks of rushing GenAI into the enterprise.

🚨 Spoiler alert: Overpromising and underplanning lead to...
💸 Budget blowouts
📉 Broken promises
🤯 Frustrated teams

What’s missing?
🧭 Clear business use cases
🛠️ Solid data foundations
🧠 Change-ready culture

Proud to share space with a range of thoughtful tech leaders who are helping steer GenAI away from hype and toward results.

ComputerworldRushing into genAI? Prepare for budget blowouts and broken promisesEnterprises rushing to embrace generative AI face soaring costs and unclear ROI, often due to poor planning and weak cost controls. Without clear goals and solid financial planning, these projects risk becoming costly experiments.

📉 Talent gaps aren’t future risks—they’re happening now! AI & ML, cybersecurity, cloud, FinOps, and platform engineering are all understaffed.

Can your current team support your strategic goals? The free "2025 State of Tech Talent Report" shows what’s driving the shortage—and how smart orgs are responding.

Looking for a quick chat here on whether or not you let your employees log into work accounts from any type of personal devices? This includes phones and tablets.

Obviously for best security, we all know the answer should be a big fat NO.

But I’m curious how strict everyone is about it - or if you’re an MSP, how often do your clients enforce it?

One thing I like about CTO Craft: it's not just conferences - they’re aspiring to build a community. There's a Slack space and in-person meetups (“mixers”).
I haven’t made it to one yet, but next week there's one in my hometown Hamburg.
Looking forward to my first!
If you're a CTO - or a senior tech leader facing the same challenges - maybe see you there?

💰 AI is transforming more than just operations, it's redefining what IT leadership is worth.
In 2024:
📈 CTO median compensation jumped 31%, hitting $2.4M
💼 CIO base salaries rose 20–30%
🏦 Highest-paid execs came from Wells Fargo, Visa, Costco, and Lineage
🚀 IT leaders are now expected to drive innovation, talent strategy, cyber resilience, and vendor ecosystems, all while aligning to board-level business outcomes.
Gone are the days of IT as a cost center. Today's CIOs and CTOs are strategic heavyweights, and their compensation reflects it.
💬 Is your org compensating IT leadership in line with their true strategic value?

“During a company-wide all-hands meeting on Thursday, some of #Meta’s top executives were asked about the “$100 million signing bonuses” that #OpenAI #CEO #SamAltman claimed they had been offering to poach his employees.

“Sam is just being dishonest here,” #AndrewBosworth, Meta’s #CTO, said at the meeting when asked about Altman’s remarks. “He’s suggesting that we’re doing this for every single person… Look, you guys, the market’s hot. It’s not that hot.”

The “$100 million bonus” headline has rightfully become a #meme on #SocialMedia since Altman said the number on his brother’s podcast. “What Sam neglects to mention is that he’s countering all these offers, creating a small market for a very, very small number of people who are for senior, senior #LeadershipRoles” in the new superintelligence #AITeam Meta is building”
