Anna Saultron :progresspride:<p>Gamers and non gamers, this extends to digital book owners and movie owners as well to a degree, because if we start letting Companies get away with one thing you can be sure they try to get away with another.</p><p>The goal is to make sure that games that are bought once digital, stay accessible even if the company behind a it don't want to support it anymore. As an example The Crew was a full price game with an MMO component Ubisoft shut down the online server and made sure that the last update uninstalled the game with a single player component from all systems that are connected to the Internet. This is a form of digital theft. They bought the game online and only because cooperations don't wanted to waste money anymore they took it from all the users who still played it.
