Emeritus Prof Christopher May<p>Its unsurprising to me (having all my energy on <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/directdebit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>directdebit</span></a> tariffs), but nonetheless extraordinary that the <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/energy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>energy</span></a> firms hold over £8bn in advance/over-payments from their customers... imagine the interest they're saving by having all that 'working capital' on hand?</p><p>Of course, the logic of spreading your payments means you build up a surplus in the summer to cover the winter's costs, but nonetheless this looks an awful lot like a free loan to these (already wealthy) companies!</p>
Jessica Courtney<p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PSA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PSA</span></a>: If you have an <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/AirBroadband" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AirBroadband</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Zybre" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Zybre</span></a> account via <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/CityFibre" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CityFibre</span></a> - CF have said Zybre are in breach of their contract (<a href="https://cityfibre.com/zybreairbroadband" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">cityfibre.com/zybreairbroadban</span><span class="invisible">d</span></a>). Don’t forget to cancel your <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DirectDebit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DirectDebit</span></a> as I’ve just received the monthly email confirming it would have been taken (despite my account status at AB being “ceased”).</p>
Chris Young<p>Ah, *there's* the marrow! <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/marrow" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>marrow</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/DirectDebit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DirectDebit</span></a></p>
Chris Young<p>Honestly have no idea what's going on. No marrows yet. <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/DirectDebit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DirectDebit</span></a></p>
Chris Young<p>I maintain that the 1990s <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/DirectDebit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DirectDebit</span></a> website was the best corporate website ever created.</p>
