I moved on from this lens too quickly (it's a crop sensor lens but at 23mm it gives me about 33-34mm on my full-frame camera and manual focus, so I thought I wouldn't like it for daily use) but rather than dreaming about another new lens I'm going to stick to this for a bit and get a good use of it, other than shooting my (very accommodating) girl cat.

(Lens is TTArtisan 23mm f1.4) #photography #FediFelines #CatsOfMastodon

Max, my 2 ¾ year old male Domestic Shorthair Classic Tabby cat, was the cause of intermittent sneezing and itching eyes and basically was the cause of an ongoing allergic reaction. He is a very interesting, very loud vocal kitty that followed me everywhere I went and loved on me like I was the most amazing human ever. 😘

He was also bullying my other two cats which really caused me some serious anxiety. Before Max, everything was fine allergy-wise. But after 10 months, I finally admitted to myself that Max was the cause and I returned him to the no kill animal shelter that I rescued him from back in late November last year. The house is very quiet now and I really miss him but this is for the best of all concerned. I keep thinking how confused he must be back at the shelter in “kitty lockup”, but I am hoping he finds a better forever home. 😢

Smoky, my 2 year old male Domestic Blue kitten and Max, my 2 1/2 year old male Domestic Shorthair Classic Tabby cat, watching the city’s road pothole patching crew work on our street through the Venetian blinds “kitty observation port” that I made for the cats to peer out in both north side windows. Their tails were both wagging with interest in the new goings on outside for them to check out. 🤨

Since I’ve been having severe balance issues and also fighting severe depression, I haven’t been able to get out and take many photographs like I would wish to do. But over the years, I’ve learned that I can only do what I can do when my health allows and lately my health is not allowing me to do much of anything. Haven’t even been able to ride my new Ducati motorcycle, but I will eventually (hopefully). Haven’t unwrapped my fishing/photography boat either. I’ll be turning 70 years old this fall and maybe I’m just expecting more than what my age allows. 🤨 Who knows?

My three felines basking in the warm morning sunshine last Friday in our back porch. They love basking like most cats do, watching the squirrels, birds and occasionally other critters on the deck or back stairs through the storm door window and just enjoying this wonderful springtime weather here at the western end of the Great Lakes. 👍🏼😎

Max, my 2+ year old male Domestic Shorthair Classic Tabby cat has the most intense gold eyes. He’s a very loving & grateful (please excuse my anthropomorphism) rescue kitty and follows me around like a little puppy-dog. He was “skinny as a rail” when I adopted him last fall from the animal shelter and now he’s chunked-out and is probably a couple pounds overweight. 😄
