Oh, nice! I miss #darktable (going back to that next)
My experience with asus has been very sketchy, FWIW.

I’ve not looked a laptop specs in a while, so can’t say much about numbers, but I do like Dell’s displays. And I remember working well on ThinkPads.

Currently very curious about #framework not sure what their displays are like.

Anyone that managed to get their hands on a Framework 12 already?
Been looking at picking up one for myself but wanted to know how the battery life is for fairly normal use (browsing the web, maybe some youtube/plex streaming, talking on Discord etc.).

My current laptop doesn't have a battery that lasts very long (it's 6 years old) but can't be charged via the USB-C either (so just using a powerbank or the trucks 12V with an adapter is a no-go).

I have a perfectly good #Framework #laptop but found myself with an extra laptop I obtained through a training program. I ended up trading it with my brother for his old #ThinkPad T540p that I had originally bought him for college that won't upgrade to Windows 11 due to the 4th gen Core series chip.

It needs some love (new keyboard, battery) but overall still surprisingly usable. Here's to another laptop being saved from #ewaste

Finally pulled the trigger on a @frameworkcomputer Laptop 16 after thinking about it for far too long.

And now to start preparing my Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 for sale. Even though its specs are so much better than the Framework 16, it's so much more difficult to even just swap out the SSD that it's laughable. So instead of a paltry 16GB RAM on an amazing processor, it's time to grab 96GB RAM on the Framework (and probably watch them announce a refresh 3 days after I receive mine).

I don't want to ever need to go through the absolute hell trying to get this Galaxy Book open ever again after this.

And of course, it'll be running my current obsession, NixOS, let's gooooo.

🚨 In a shocking twist, a new #web #framework for #Ruby is re-inventing the wheel by stripping out every modern convenience and calling it "Brut"—because who needs controllers or resources when you can just write HTML like it’s 1999? 🙈 Apparently, #simplicity now means doing more work with fewer tools! 🛠️

"For its first few years, the team's focus usually seemed to be on getting the new stuff spun up rather than actively supporting the old stuff, but the company looks like it's striking a better balance now."

@arstechnica takes a critical look at the state of #software support for the sustainable #Framework #laptops.

So the left side of the trackpad on my new Framework 12 laptop was sticking and acting strangely. I noticed there was a small gap on the right side, indicating maybe it was mounted a bit off-center? A few short minutes later the laptop had been taken apart, adjusted, reassembled, and it's working beautifully. I love this little machine!

THIS is how more things need to work! There's no need for lengthy hold queues, or expensive and wasteful repairs. Just let me do it!

#SakanaAI has introduced #MultiLLM #ABMCTS, a technique that enables multiple #LLMs to #collaborate on #complextasks. By combining the strengths of #differentmodels, the system outperforms individual LLMs by 30% on the ARC-AGI-2 benchmark. The open-source #TreeQuest #framework allows developers to implement this approach for their own tasks. venturebeat.com/ai/sakana-ais- #tech #media #news
