Every passing moment, I feel more and more vindicated I buy nothing with NVIDIA in it. Not even the expensive gaming computer for a local makerspace.

Estou atrás de amigos por aqui. De preferência que gostem de jogos e animes.
I'm behind friends around here. Preferably you like games and anime.
Gamer's Nexus going _directly_ for Nvidia's throat over their attempts to punish media who don't follow Nvidia's orders _about_ content. It's a beautiful - and deserved - thing.
Only watched part of this, but not too surprising. Between NVidia’s high prices on GPUs with their fake MSRPs, shrinkflationing GPUs with a 5070 Ti working more like a midrange GPU and a 5060 a budget GPU, at high prices, and questionable business practices.
Times like these makes me glad that I have a RX 7900 XTX, but of course would like some of that 5090/4090 performance, but not at that price.
Today on Quarantine Control on @damagecontrolblog, I wrote about Gamer Nexus' video about the end of affordable computing. @Dio_Senrab wrote about Conclave. CWTyger warned us to say way from the anime, I Can’t Understand What My Husband Is Saying.

Quarantine Control #266: Understand the Conclave Nexus
Because you won't find the answer to that in *this* post.

The age of affordable computers, along with GPUs especially is not coming back anytime soon. A high end PC gaming may become a luxury already.
[Gamers Nexus] The death of affordable computing | Tariffs impact & investigation
[Gamers Nexus] The death of affordable computing | Tariffs... #hardware #tariffs #gamersnexusWatch this video if you want to understand how #tariffs are going to smash the hell out of the US #retail sector.
It shows the cost of products from imagination to door and the thin margins the company make.
Thank you for this #gamersnexus
The #tRump tariffs are insane. That is too stupid to know what he doesn't know.
The factories can't move to the #US as he demands.. the suppliers are in #China
Here's the ramifications of the moron in chief's actions.
**THIS** is what journalism should look like.
#GamersNexus today released a three hour video interviewing nine companies in the tech industry across the US about the effects of that slob's on-again off-again tariffs:
Currently watching #GamersNexus video on the US Tariffs. That is scary shit. High level journalism but man that's dark in parts.

can't sleep?
amazing 3H vid RE: tariffs... some highlights so far:
1 GN inteviews US manufacturers
2 behind the scenes of HYTE actual costs
3 before tariffs, a $130 MSRP case costs HYTE $95 to make. They get $5 margin, the store gets $30
4 w/ proposed tariffs, *THEIR COST* goes to $214
5 HYTE is *NO LONGER SHIPPING TO THE US*. Once they are out of inventory, they are * dried out *
Gamers Nexus tonight posted a THREE HOUR DEEP DIVE on how Trump's tariff regime is completely fucking _one segment_ of the computer industry: custom computers and components including gaming PCs.
I have now watched all of it.
IT IS WORTH YOUR TIME.
I _never_ say that shit about a video this long but it is a documentary of _goddamn note_.
The transparency from Hyte in particular - it's stunning. They're just dumping pricing trade secrets because they literally can't do business in the US as things stood at time of shooting.
And this is just _one_ industry.
$600 for a PC case, anyone?
Notice that the biggest problem is not "the consumer loses" with tariffs.
The biggest problem is job loss. The moment a company goes under or relocates elsewhere, jobs are lost. Imagine that happening to the whole chain.
"The Death of Affordable Computing" is the most disheartening title for this video.

After seeing, it rings true and things are going to be shaky the next months.
Everything you need to know about #AI, distilled to its essence.
Not too surprising since the latest NVidia generations with their performance uplift hasn't been that great. Basically a 4070 is basically a 4060 and a 4060 is a 4050. It feels like a ripoff.
May as well just get that Switch 2 or a PS5, a good value GPU is basically the price of the PC, and it doesn't include the rest of the computer.
