They've logged into BARD and went to download a book as a test, but no download option appears! There's only the wishlist option and the metadata about the book. In settings, we've selected that both formats should be presented, Braille and Audio. What gives? Do we just have a book that isn't available in Braille as a test?</p>

Joy Tilton<p>So, are there other Braille displays having issues connecting to public beta 18.4? Not sure if this has been an ongoing issue. At least with the <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/humanware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>humanware</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/NLS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NLS</span></a>-eReader, there's a definite connection issue. I can wake my phone up with cursor routing but that's about it.</p>
Tarren (They/Them)<p>Good morning from a Braille display with a nice, normal battery that isn’t trying to blow up. LOL It is so good to be able to do stuff on my phone without speech again! It's certainly easier to take notes in my sessions with my students without having to listen to a speech synth at the same time! Now to find the tape and ship the old one outa here. <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/NLS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NLS</span></a> <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/Ereader" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Ereader</span></a> <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/Humanware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Humanware</span></a> <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/Brl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Brl</span></a> <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/Accessibility" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Accessibility</span></a></p>

If the battery compartment is bulging, that display is toast--the battery is probably swollen. I am speaking from personal experience informed by <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://dragonscave.space/@TheZooLady" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>TheZooLady</span></a></span>’s discussion of the situation with a friend who works for a library for the <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/blind" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>blind</span></a> in his state.
