I’ll take a 50% hit rate for my first time with #LargeFormat. I was a bit hurried because I couldn’t wait to use my new camera but with a heat index of 105 I also didn’t want to faff about for too long outdoors.
Now I need to figure out how I’m going to scan these things…I’ll think that over a cold beer, which I believe I’ve earned.
Not exactly a successful portrait… Actually, Edie was patient enough to let me try a test shot with my newly acquired 8x10. It’s actually a double exposure because I screwed up and, rather than waste a sheet, I opened the shutter twice and I’m not sure if the lens will cover 8x10 once I find the centre position.
It’s a learning process.

I've had a bunch of #largeformat fails lately. It was going so well. I forgot bellows extension on two dry plates and a sheet. Accidentally opened a grafmatic back without shutting my lens aperture first. Also had a developer fail.
I need to slow down.

Very proud to announce that 'Spectral' is now live.
A collaboration with patient sitters who visited our studio in May and shot their own self portraits on an old 1950's camera. I then combined these images using a little css wizardry.
There are:

23 gradients
