stib<p>Been using <a href="https://aus.social/tags/KDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KDE</span></a> Okular as my default pdf reader on <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a>, and just worked out that there's a setting that allows you to specify dark and light colours, meaning you can read pdfs in <a href="https://aus.social/tags/DarkMode" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DarkMode</span></a>. No more having to put sunglasses on to read manuals! And you can assign it to a keyboard shortcut, so I've set it to the same as <a href="https://aus.social/tags/DarkReader" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DarkReader</span></a> in <a href="https://aus.social/tags/LibreWolf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LibreWolf</span></a>.<br>I love it when Linux Just Works.</p>

I've tried on both YouTube and several Peertube instances and videos just sit at an endless spinner. Audio works fine, playing music from my Subsonic server works no problem. I installed the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Flatpak" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Flatpak</span></a> version and symlinked my profile directories, it plays video just fine using the same profile.</p>

Beyond a hardened privacy fork like <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/librewolf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>librewolf</span></a> or <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/mullvad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mullvad</span></a> what options exist for browsers and for email clients like thunderbird?</p><p>To me I want to ditch big tech as much as possible. I’m fine making a compromise to use a Firefox fork like Librewolf, and <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/thunderbird" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>thunderbird</span></a> as an email client. However, I also want to be educated on better alternatives anyone has them 🙂</p><p>I’m new in the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/FOSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FOSS</span></a> journey.</p>

The font is installed on my system, I have restarted LibreWolf since installing it, and testing the font in another application has verified that it should display Toki Pona words as Sitelen pona glyphs, but the text on the page is still appearing in Latin characters.
