Bicycling Monterey 💚🌎🌍🌏<p>Local public library’s seed library is happening again. We also exchange seeds with a neighbor. When we do need to buy seeds, we love what has become our favorite seed company: Sow True Seed. 🌼Traci🌼<p><a href="https://regenerate.social/tags/GeneticDiversity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GeneticDiversity</span></a> in our crops is incredibly important for <a href="https://regenerate.social/tags/FoodSecurity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FoodSecurity</span></a> and truly <a href="https://regenerate.social/tags/sustainable" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sustainable</span></a> <a href="https://regenerate.social/tags/agriculture" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>agriculture</span></a>.</p><p>Yesterday M harvested a little plot of an <a href="https://regenerate.social/tags/indigenous" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>indigenous</span></a> variety of <a href="https://regenerate.social/tags/corn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>corn</span></a> he'd planted specifically to reproduce the seed. It turns out the seed was crossed, with very few true to variety cobs being harvested. But so it goes with <a href="https://regenerate.social/tags/OpenPollinated" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenPollinated</span></a> seed sourced from the <a href="https://regenerate.social/tags/campesino" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>campesino</span></a> <a href="https://regenerate.social/tags/community" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>community</span></a>. </p><p>We'll see what he does with this seed. It did produce spectacularly well.</p>
