Otaku In Review Episode 266: Hot Spring Detox
@ScottSpaziani, @station, and I kick off this episode discussing the terrible and baffling decision by Otakon about adult merchandise sales in the dealer room.
We also preview the upcoming Gundam series, and discuss season 1 of Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei.

Oh hey, we have a new article tonight!
Samantha finally published her on-the-floor coverage of Otakon 2024. She highlights her favorite parts of the con, including panels, the Dealer's Room, and the museum. It's worth a read, if only for the dozens of photos.
Hey everyone, it's new article day.
On Wednesday? Wait...
Anyway, Samantha just published a new article from Otakon, that gives her report on Otakon's "Anime In The Philippines" panel. It's a good read about a great presentation by Mich Chan.
A Sketchy Proposal, Or How Fans Hide In Plain Sight: Lauren Orsini recalls a sketchy-sounding partnership pitch, and how it played into the fact that most people don't realize that anime fans are pretty much everywhere, in all age groups, even those beyond the typical 18-25 demographic.

Otaku In Review Episode 263: Otakon 2024
@ScottSpaziani and I are joined by @station to discuss our weekend at Otakon 2024.
#Otakon Cosplaying the Bomber from the Hypnosis Microphone anime. A silly cosplay of a character that only shows up in two episodes.
#Otakon Next, my cosplay of Eiji from Kamen Rider OOOs. I unfortunately forgot my scarf and rider belt, but it's still recognizable thanks to the underwear pole.
Posting my cosplays from #Otakon 2024. First up, Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicles. The outfit was made by my friend The Insanity of Mojiru.
Hi everyone, it's new article day
Today, it's a bit different, though - Samantha finally finished going through all the cosplay photos from Otakon 2024 - cleaning up, tagging, and the like, so today we have the results of that with our regular roundup for the event. Enjoy~
Also,a huge thanks again to everyone photographed - you are all amazing.
For tonight's Quarantine Control I wrote about the miserable experience that is trying to book a hotel for Otakon on @damagecontrolblog. @DioSenrab wrote about Batman: Caped Crusader and CWTyger wrote about The Girl Who Lept Through Time. Check us out!

Getting a room for Otakon 2025 was an ordeal. Loved that the waiting room system was announced yesterday, the waiting room opened at 10am ET instead of 11am, and that thousands of people were already in the queue.
Our group did grab two rooms at the Hyatt, one at the Comfort Inn and The Westin.
Getting a room for Otakon 2025 was a shit show. The new waiting room system was supposed to go live at 11am EST, with booking opening at noon. They opened the waiting room at 10am for testing, people noticed and they just left it open.
Worse, the official announcement of the waiting room opening at 11am didn't happen until almost 11am. So people who scheduled around noon were screwed when it came to getting a room close to the convention center. Thankfully, my friends got in before 11.
Was able to book 2 rooms at the Marriott Marquis for Otakon 2025.
LET'S GO!
