I tried to set up my #Quest2 with #SteamVR at a local game shop, so I could play-test there, but after like 4 hours I still couldn't get it to not run like shit on their hardware. #PCVR has always had a large technical barrier, but #Google just doesn't work now, so I don't know how to overcome it anymore.

Weekend 3 of trying #PSVR2 for #PCVR - this time with a BT dongle. Almost perfect! Had both controllers disconnect and refuse to connect again, once, needing a reboot; but I think that was after swapping drivers and I might have forgotten to reboot anyway.

Had another test of #PSVR2 with PC adapter, this time with the Bluetooth antenna attached. Worked better, but inputs with controllers were janky, then one finally fell off. Better but not ideal. Looks like the dongle will be required for #PCVR use.

It’s been pointed out to me that my #PSVR2 controllers on #PCVR might be failing purely because I don’t have the Bluetooth antenna attached. I never knew that was a thing. Just found it in the box of things, 3 years after getting the PC.

Now attached. Will re-test tomorrow.

Hey #PCVR #VR gaming fedi I still want to know the best way in late 2024 to launch flat screen things (such as a Playstation 2/3 emulator) in pseudo VR

Just set up the #PSVR2 with the PC adapter to use it for #PCVR and it mostly went well! Unsurprisingly I ran into the controller disconnect issue. Looks like I need to invest in a Bluetooth dongle. Meanwhile though the Steam home looked amazing! Much clearer than in the Quest 2.

Prescription inserts for the #PSVR2 have arrived; gave them a very quick test and they seem spot on! Hopefully over the weekend I'll give the PC adaptor a go. It's going to be intersting to see how #PSVR for #PCVR compares with the Meta Quest 2 for the same.

I just finished playing Arizona Sunshine Remake and Arizona Sunshine 2 back to back in glorious virtual reality. They are action packed zombie shooters with a healthy portion of humour. I played the Steam version through ALVR on Linux linked wirelessly to my Pico 4 headset.
