I unplugged most things. All back now, and hoping there won't be any more problems. <br>The gate still hadn't been re-programmed from a bouncing ages ago, but it's jammed open so that's ok. <br>I'd already changed the external catflap to a battery-operated one. <br>Considering more battery lamps.</p>

Vivienne Dunstan<p>Got a leaflet with the post about coping with power cuts and registering for priority needs help (I did that, years ago). I was wryly amused at the advice to have an analogue phone to plug in if need be during a power cut. Which I don’t think will work when UK copper phone lines are turned off. My husband didn’t know about that at all.
