Pirate Praveen<p>Just a clarification, I meant when making a different choice, we lose our contacts who refuse to take extra effort.</p><p>What <a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/Quicksy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Quicksy</span></a> made possible is, people who want convenience can talk to people who are willing to make extra efforts for <a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/privacy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>privacy</span></a> using the same app.</p><p>So now both needs can be satisfied without losing the ability to talk to each other.</p><p><a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/xmpp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>xmpp</span></a></p>
Pirate Praveen<p>Many people expect to use a messaging app by just entering their phone number.</p><p>Traditionally it was not possible to make other choices. <a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/Quicksy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Quicksy</span></a> made it possible to satisify this without requiring the exact same choice by other who want more <a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/privacy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>privacy</span></a> from the provider by being interoperable with any <a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/XMPP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>XMPP</span></a> app out there.</p><p><a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/Prav" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Prav</span></a> is making Quicksy democratic by offering the same idea as a <a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/cooperative" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cooperative</span></a>.</p><p>So this means we have to send SMS to users, and need your support.</p><p><a href="https://opencollective.com/pravapp/projects/hosting-and-sms" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">opencollective.com/pravapp/pro</span><span class="invisible">jects/hosting-and-sms</span></a></p>
Ravi Dwivedi<p>By the way, if you don't know what XMPP is. It is a messaging protocol. You can get started with <a href="https://toot.io/tags/Quicksy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Quicksy</span></a> or <a href="https://toot.io/tags/Prav" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Prav</span></a>.</p>

The value addition over conversations is, this bindling of app, client and a directory makes joining <a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/xmpp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>xmpp</span></a> easy for people who are used to apps that only needs your phone number.</p>
