#Rejoin

With predictable rapidity, Queer Harmer's obeisance before the puissant majesty of His Orange Highness has resulted in nothing except empty humiliation as the trade deal collapses before ever being implemented.

Why can't he realise that the only reliable partner is Europe. Both sides is not an option.

It's crazy that the British are still whining about the loss of their evil empire (which for most people was not democratic) and are proud not to be part of the #EU.

After all, it was Britain's most famous politician, Winston #Churchill, who expressed the idea of a federated #Europe in Zurich — in a country which has also never been part of the EU.

Was it supposed to be without #Britain? Of course not!

So, get over your #exceptionalism and #rejoin the democratic club!

Leave supporter Michael Portillo talking about how it's very hard to get people to pick fruit in the UK these days with no reflection on why that may be. Thanks, @BBCRD's colleagues at #BBCTwo for preventing his interlocutor from saying why there's a "critical shortage" of pickers. Impartial shouldn't mean unchallenged and yet this national calamity is never questioned on the national broadcaster.

@dwasmkuk
Gods, I'm not surprised one bit.
#Rejoin all the way. Come back to us. The unity it would have given us in this time of the largest war in Europe since WW2 would be very welcome.

(at this point I'd even let the UK have most of the old special deals back if you joined back quickly - but I doubt most would since there's not enough trust).

@ChrisMayLA6 hi prof, please be advised the UK is very welcome to #rejoin, but there will no opt-outs, rebates, or 'special relationship'. They will be either all-in or all-out.
Otherwise, you can negotiate as you please but your deal probably wont improve that much.

This is in fact, probably the worst time for the UK to renegotiate for a better deal. Because unlike in the days of prime minister Johnson, you now have no other trade block to seek tighter trade relations with than with the EU.
