Data Quine<p>007&nbsp;&nbsp;|&nbsp;&nbsp;Color (feat. Gregor Aisch) – Data Stories <br>I've been listening to some old data podcast episodes. This one is from 2012 on colour/color. Ken Koon Wong<p>I finally understood B-splines by working through the Cox-deBoor algorithm step-by-step, discovering they’re just weighted combinations of basis functions that make non-linear regression linear. What surprised me is going through Bayesian statistics really helped me understand the engine behind the model! Will try this again in the future! <a href="https://med-mastodon.com/tags/rstats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rstats</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://www.kenkoonwong.com/blog/bspline/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">kenkoonwong.com/blog/bspline/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
Danielle Navarro<p>Wherein the author, being a fucking idiot as usual, discovers that it is sooooooooo much easier to create pairwise scatterplot matrices with ggplot2 if you pivot the data into the correct "pairwise long" format first. <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/rstats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rstats</span></a></p><p><a href="https://blog.djnavarro.net/posts/2025-06-03_ggplot2-scatterplot-pairs/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">blog.djnavarro.net/posts/2025-</span><span class="invisible">06-03_ggplot2-scatterplot-pairs/</span></a></p>

I've been using <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Positron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Positron</span></a> for most of my R work recently and one nice feature is that it does a pretty good job at detecting all the various Pythons you have installed and let's you choose and switch between them.
