California folks!

from Oil & Gas Action Network:

10 years ago, a ruptured pipeline spilled more than 450,000 gallons of crude oil into the Pacific Ocean at Refugio State Beach. Beaches were closed, fisheries shut down, & marine wildlife — from pelicans to sea lions — died in devastating numbers

We should be learning from our past — not repeating it. But California State Parks just granted a CA Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) exemption to Sable Offshore Corp., the TEXAS-based oil company that has been running roughshod over California regulations as they rush to restart the same disaster-prone pipeline

Tell State Parks to do the right thing: Defend our precious ecosystems and prioritize people over Big Oil’s profits!

There’s still time to stop this.
Write to Gov. Newsom, AG Rob Bonta, and California State Parks to require a full Environmental Impact Report before Sable gets another green light

I'm at St. Croix State Park for this week's video! The park is the largest in the MN system and has over 127 miles (!) of trails. The portion I did, where the Kettle River converges with the St. Croix, was super scenic.

A fun bear story is told.

If you're in northern #Minnesota, Most of the trails are quite runnable and would be great for even the least-experienced of trail runners.

5yrs ago, photos app reminds me, we were at Point Lobos park, California.
These three assholes off-trail, trampling sensitive plant life and potentially disturbing birds and seals.

THE SIGNS APPLY TO EVERYONE
Iirc I shouted at them, but I haven't always felt able to do so. I hate this entitlement, disregard for wild spaces you're privileged to be in, ignorance, harm. Grow tf up. People are the worst.
