DesertFOX<p>When it comes to my retro games collection, I am usually trying to find every variant and every available version of a game. Sometimes, this is pretty easy. For games like &quot;Space Quest I - The Sarien Encounter&quot;, it is not.</p><p>I just added Version 2.2, Interpreter 2.426, 3.5&quot; / 720K as a copy protected TeleDisk disk image. It works!</p><p><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/RetroGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>RetroGaming</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/DOSGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DOSGaming</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/RetroGames" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>RetroGames</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/DOSGames" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DOSGames</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/SpaceQuest" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SpaceQuest</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/FloppyDisk" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>FloppyDisk</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/KryoFlux" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>KryoFlux</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Emualtion" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Emualtion</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/86Box" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>86Box</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/SierraOnline" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SierraOnline</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/CopyProtection" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>CopyProtection</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TeleDisk" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TeleDisk</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Preservation" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Preservation</span></a></p>
DesertFOX<p>Creating TeleDisk images for a few more copy protected DOS games. Looks like there are some weird sector sizes! Let&#39;s hope they will work as intended.</p><p><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/RetroGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>RetroGaming</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/CopyProtection" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>CopyProtection</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TeleDisk" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TeleDisk</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/MSDOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MSDOS</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/86Box" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>86Box</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Emulation" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Emulation</span></a></p>
DesertFOX<p>If you like to play the original Lemmings for MS-DOS, here&#39;s a working disk image. Using the latest 86Box v4.2, the .TD0 image is 100% accepted as a protected key disk. Have fun!</p><p><a href="https://archive.org/details/lemmings_kryoflux" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">archive.org/details/lemmings_k</span><span class="invisible">ryoflux</span></a></p><p><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Lemmings" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Lemmings</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/KryoFlux" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>KryoFlux</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TeleDisk" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TeleDisk</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/CopyProtection" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>CopyProtection</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/86Box" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>86Box</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/MSDOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MSDOS</span></a></p>
DesertFOX<p>Mmmh... I just spent the last two hours trying to convert a KryoFlux stream of the original &quot;SpaceQuest I&quot; into a disk image working within 86Box.</p><p>So far, it&#39;s still complaining. 😞 </p><p><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/RetroGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>RetroGaming</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/CopyProtection" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>CopyProtection</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/MSDOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MSDOS</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TeleDisk" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TeleDisk</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Emulation" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Emulation</span></a></p>
DesertFOX<p>The good thing about 86Box is that has decent support for TeleDisk images, which means a lot of copy protected floppy disks just work without the need for cracks or anything.</p><p><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/RetroGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>RetroGaming</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/MSDOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MSDOS</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TeleDisk" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TeleDisk</span></a></p>
DesertFOX<p>As mentioned before, I&#39;ve recently switched from PCem to 86Box for PC emulation. Sure, it does feel a bit more modern and versatile, but there&#39;s one specific feature I only found out about 30 minutes ago: 86Box can run copy-protected floppy disks directly from TeleDisk images! This might not work anywhere, but for some games, it is a game changer!</p><p>- Older, heavily copy-protected titles like Grand Prix Circuit from 1988 are now finally working within an emulator!</p><p>- Jurassic Park lets you finally install to Drive [C] without cracking the entire installer. It just works now!</p><p>- Somehow I can even use the Lemmings key disk and it works without any modification! This is awesome!</p><p><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/RetroGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>RetroGaming</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/86Box" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>86Box</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TeleDisk" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TeleDisk</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/CopyProtection" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>CopyProtection</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Emulation" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Emulation</span></a></p>
