Sitting here waiting to place an order for a Gshock watch. Their shopping cart / checkout hasn't worked, either on my computer or phone, in the five days that I've been trying. I can't be the only one having issues, even if it's just the Canadian store.

Today's #watch — fresh from the mail — is a mechanical, hand-wound Felca. Gold-plated 34mm case, silver dial, a nice pin-shaped red seconds hand. As for the period, I'd say 1940s-1950s. Felca is a Swiss watch brand founded in 1919 as Felco, then renamed Felca. In the 1950s the brand expanded its business to Asia and started making watches under the name Titoni. Later, they merged the two brands and now they're just Titoni. Still making beautiful watches 100 years later.

I have a watch that is black, is shock resistant, and has a compass. In certain pockets of the US, they would felate themselves by calling it a “tactical watch,” just like they would call anything from a neck warmer to a laptop sleeve “tactical” if it were black. A lot of people who wouldn’t know how to start a fire and probably haven’t walked a mile all at once — they nonetheless need as much “tactical” gear as they can get.

Today’s #watch has been this Timex Expedition TW4B01900. Bought new for about €55 during last year’s Black Friday. Quartz movement. The indiglo feature is truly useful to see the hour in the dark. And I love the orange seconds hand.

The 6900 is the only #Gshock that I want that I haven't acquired. Sadly, the Gshock Canada site is flaky to the point where I think its security is compromised, so I have a lot of time to decide on a model.

Leaning toward boring black. I like the grey, but I'm not a fan of negative displays. Love the beige-white one, but the Shiba gimmick is a little much. It's not even a good kind of dog. Their necks are too big for their legs. The balance is all wrong. Mea culpa to my J friends. :)
