It's a pity that #Mastodon is the most popular #Fediverse service.* Lack of emoji reactions and markup make it really inexpressive, and if you choose something else which does support them - #Akkoma, #Sharkey, #Misskey etc - you're still cooked, because your emoji reactions and markup won't show up for the majority of people who are on Mastodon

Phanpy : la Fédiverse autrement
Nouveau service disponible, un client minimaliste et original pour la Fédiverse (Mastodon), qui propose une interface avec des fonctionnalités intéressantes.
Entre autre :
- Gestion de plusieurs comptes.
- Séparation visuelle entre publications et partages.
- Présentation multi-colonnes configurable.
- Raccourcis clavier personnalisés.
A noter que le service n’est pas limité à notre propre instance (social@tmprs), et peut être utilisé avec n’importe quel instance de la Fédiverse compatible avec l’API de #Mastodon (ex : #GoToSocial, #Pleroma, #Akkoma, etc.).
Côté confidentialité, #Phanpy c’est juste une Webapp qui ne stocke aucune donnée sur le serveur (ni identifiant, ni mot de passe, ni messages). Tout se passe dans le navigateur de l’ordinateur (ou du téléphone), c’est à dire sur votre propre machine.
@phanpy est un logiciel libre et open source, développé par @cheeaun. Documentation et code source disponibles sur le dépôt Github.

@CanvasesByPeter Understand your dilemma. I changed to my Friendica account/s as my "default fedi" last year, a few times, but eventually kept coming back to Masto, for several reasons, not necessarily only, but including:
- could not find one with server/s in Oz or close by, that met my aspirations of being green, multi-user with at least a few hundred users, & ofc still open for rego
- also preferred not a Merkan one
- all the European ones i tried [servers in Germany, & Sweden?] had unacceptable latency for fetching & sending posts, & some of them had terrible unreliability / downtime
- two of the Euro ones ran scheduled database backups etc at their 0200 or 0300, which was my 0900 or 1000, & they were unavailable / unresponsive then for 60' - 120', which was galling
- most of my frequent interlocutors are on Masto, such that the many software differences twixt F & M actively adversely degraded the convo UX
Given my Masto already has a most useful char limit of 11K, after my latest return to Masto early this year i took a different strategy. I stopped hunting for "better" fedi platforms [ie, #Friendica, #Pleroma, #Akkoma, #Firefish, #Misskey et al], & focused on investigating potentially better browser front-ends for my Masto instance. So i tried many more than these, but the interesting ones were #Sengi, #Phanpi, & #Statuzer. Every now & then i revisit the first two, but the latter has been my fav for several months now.

1. Est-ce que si j'exporte mes données (abonnements etc.) avec les fonctions 'standards' et les réimporte sur le nouveau serveur avec le même handle, tout va se passer de manière transparente pour mes abonnés : la fédération va-t-elle continuer a fonctionner ?

For those who are curious, my server does about 2 gig of traffic per day. Pinksheep is a small instance but we relay with some larger instances. The Australian federal election saw our traffic shoot up to 8 gig! The traffic (much like my post-election high) has be tapering off. The dates are slightly out because my hosting is in the Netherlands. #Akkoma #Auspol

I been wanting to host my own #fediverse instance for a while. But been plagued by indecisiveness from choices. 
I'm sort settling on #gotosocial. The goal is to be a single user instance. Their entire stack I can contribute to.
Likely I can do the same with #akkoma. But I would then strip down the instance enough that I'm effectively imitating gotosocial. 
While on the Fediverse, have you noticed that most of the assholes use Akkoma or Pleroma as their preferred Fedi software platform, or am I imagining things?
Not to say, jerks, are not everywhere, using every platform, or to imply normal, decent people don't use Akkoma or Pleroma, too. Just that it seems like usually, often, I notice that jerks tend to use those platforms, more.

@Tutanota Please be open to the whole #Fediverse - that is more than Mastodon. I am on an #Akkoma, #Pleroma, #Friendica, #Sharkey or #Hubzilla instance.
