“Socialism did not have anything particularly new to teach me; however, it provided me with the theory to verify what I already knew emotionally from my own past. I was poor then; I am poor now. Because of this I have been overworked, mistreated, tormented, oppressed, deprived of my freedom, exploited, and ruled by people with money. I had always harbored a deep antagonism toward people with that kind of power and a deep sympathy for people from backgrounds like mine.”

IWW: **Food Fight: June Edition**

"Throughout history, working class people have stood up and fought back against oppression and exploitation in the food system. Each month, Food Fight documents a timeline of historical labor struggles to inform and educate today’s workers on historical class struggle in the food industry. We commemorate their struggles each day of the month. June 1 … Continue reading "Food Fight: June Edition""

In an ideal Aponist future, people would live in freely formed communities managing their affairs by participatory democracy or consensus, with no centralized authority imposing its will at gunpoint. Defense and policing, to the extent they are needed at all, would be community-based and focused on de-escalation and protection rather than domination. The ultimate goal is a world where violence by authorities is obsolete because oppression and extreme inequality have been eliminated.

Welcome to my new Pixelfed account, hosted on my own Pixelfed server! :pixelfed: Finally I did it! Here I'm going to publish older images from various travels I made through the years. I'm going to post these in multiple posts with max. 20 images. The first 4 of those are federated to Mastodon, but you can click through to the original post on Joene's Pixelfed. 🚀 These posts will be collected in… 🎉 surprise… collections (only on Joene's Pixelfed).

The first batch is from 5-13 May 2016 in #Idomeni (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idomeni) and the surrounding area. This was a refugee camp in the north of #Greece at the then militarized border of #NorthMacedonia, that was short after my visit evicted by the Greek government (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-36358891). Originally I went there for my study journalism, but this didn't work out. I found volunteering much more important. 📢 A shout out to Hot Food Idomeni (https://www.facebook.com/Hotfoodidomeni)! This collective of mostly #anarchists cooked every day for more than 5,000 #refugees. They had their camp in/near a motel just outside #Polykastro (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polykastro). There was also another collective that did the same, but cooked on the camp. They spoke Spanish, but I forgot their name.

“Every type of political power presupposes some particular form of human slavery, for the maintenance of which it is called into being. Just as outwardly, that is, in relation to other states the state has to create certain artificial antagonisms in order to justify its existence, so also internally the cleavage of society into castes, ranks and classes is an essential condition of its continuance. The development of the Bolshevist bureaucracy in Russia under the alleged dictatorship of the proletariat (which has never been anything but the dictatorship of a small clique over the proletariat and the whole Russian people) is merely a new instance of an old historical experience which has repeated itself countless times. This new ruling class, which to-day is rapidly growing into a new aristocracy, is set apart from the great masses of the Russian peasants and workers just as clearly as are the privileged castes and classes in other countries from the mass of the people. And this situation becomes still more unbearable when a despotic state denies to the lower classes the right to complain of existing conditions, so that any protest is made at the risk of their lives.”

I'm a fucking Anarchist, and I’m not shutting the hell up! Stop trying to convince me otherwise. If you don’t like my path and my knowledge, then I have a damn good option for you!

Move the fuck on with your life. Find new friends, meet new people, connect with those who share your interests. Stop wasting your time trying to change me.

Fuck off telling me to vote in some bullshit election. Stop trying to talk me out of anarchism and revolutionary syndicalism. I’m done with the masking, I’m loud, and I’m fucking here.
