Cameron McCormickMy favorite claim is about the <a href="https://sauropods.win/tags/HundredHorseChestnut" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#HundredHorseChestnut</a> — a <a href="https://sauropods.win/tags/SweetChestnut" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#SweetChestnut</a> <a href="https://sauropods.win/tags/Castanea_sativa" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Castanea_sativa</a> and not a Horsechestnut! — with a purported trunk circumference of 190’ / 57.9 m and presumed diameter of ~60’ / 18.3 m, by far the largest of ANY <a href="https://sauropods.win/tags/BigTree" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#BigTree</a> ! Sadly, it seems quite unlikely this <a href="https://sauropods.win/tags/Tree" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Tree</a> — which is still around! — ever had a single trunk that was actually such a size.

Surprisingly, this means until quite recently Yellow Buckeyes were the third-tallest <a href="https://sauropods.win/tags/tree" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#tree</a> species in Eastern North America (after E. White Pine and Tuliptrees). This <a href="https://sauropods.win/tags/bigtree" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#bigtree</a> was reportedly 196’ (59.7 m) when alive, although this is apparently *somewhat* exaggerated.<a href="http://www.ents-bbs.org/viewtopic.php?f=131&t=1210" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.ents-bbs.org/viewtopic.php?f=131&t=1210</a>
