Good grief! I noticed that the Fossify Calendar and File Manager had made it to Google Play, and also noticed that the reviews for the old Simple Calendar were tanking...

The top one was this:

It originally said there would be a one-time payment of 2.99 after the free trial. I thought I'd gladly pay that so I continued to use it. When the trial was up I was given the option to buy not for the single payment of 2.99 but for $15/week! The app itself is exactly what I want over other calendars I've tried. And I would pay for adless, but over $2/day is insane. Banner ads would be tolerable but it has video ads when opening the app and adding an event. Wish I'd read the reviews.

(Emphasis added.) Before the sale, Simple Mobile Calendar did in fact have a single one-time payment option of around $2.99.

The company replied:

Sorry to hear that the price for the Premium subscription seems high to you. Please, note that the App on the Premium version opens up many exciting features and opportunities for you and it is definitely worth the price. The Premium version has no ads. Thank you!

"Seems" high"? $15/week for a simple calendar is exorbitant.

Video adds on a basic tool are insane.

I am so glad I uninstalled all of the ones I was using, and started replacing them with the Fossify fork!

Meanwhile, the Fossify apps are continuing to roll out on F-Droid, with the Contacts, Phone (dialer) and SMS Messenger now available as well.

Apple’s Calendar app ought to support non-event entries, for jotting down things like “baby first step” or whatever. Should just let you click on a date and type into a field, rather than bringing up a special panel to type in.

For that matter it’s kind of surprising they never afaik added the ability to use images.

I want to set the week view in my calendar app to show today on the far left and the next 6 days to the right.

I don't think that's an option.

Let's find out!

(Why do so many of us skip that step before posting a rant on the Internet?)

macOS Calendar app:

Calendar > Settings... > (Popover should appear)

General > Scroll in week view by > Day

Close the popover.

Click "Week" view > Click "Today"

Fantastical may have finally won me over as an alternative to the Calendar app on iOS/macOS. I rely heavily on the suggested events in Calendar for assembling my schedule quickly. But there’s still no way to clear out or change those. Fantastical let’s you actually set template events, and edit them after the fact!🎉 Crazy to me that the system app doesn’t have something like this.

Looking for a simple shared calendar app for browser, Windows, iOS, with decent sized text, color to help visibility.

Constraints: I work with octogenarians who are not adept with new software. Can’t handle spreadsheets or Google Calendar.

Currently trying Clickup because it’s calendar is simple but interface is terrible (and doesn’t look improved in v3). Would love a combo of Clickup’s calendar with Trello’s looks.

Any ideas?
