Deck destruction continuing today.
Most of the subframe is still in pretty good nick, considering it's about 25yrs old. I think we'll end up just halving the size of it and renewing the boards, then put raised beds at the end nearest the camera.

A raised wooden deck with the boards taken up exposing the subframe. One or two joists are rotten but most seems ok.

This is becoming a habit for this #heron. Perhaps it's a newcomer. It's landing on our #decking several times a day, but this time took #flight moments after I manage to get the camera out.

The strange vertical bands of colour on the "in flight" picture are reflections on the patio doors through which the shot was taken. They didn't show up so badly on the standing picture.

I guess this is "our new" heron. It appears to have taken to visiting the decking behind our house very regularly.
The heron didn't stay long, and took flight a few moments after the other photo.
