Aptivi<p><strong>KDE Plasma 6.5 has a Day-Night Cycle section in&nbsp;Settings</strong></p><p>Night Light in KDE Plasma uses the day and night cycle to manage the scheduling for turning on the blue light filter in the nights and turning it off in the mornings. The day and night cycle consists of sunrise and sunset times in your region, and they differ from area to area. You can either select your region manually from the map shown, or automatically from the Internet.</p><p>Over time, various features in development for the upcoming KDE Plasma version are being worked on, such as dynamic wallpapers. This feature uses the day and night cycle that you’ve set up to automatically change the wallpaper based on the time of day. From the sunrise time, the wallpaper changes to the light version, and from the sunset times, it changes to the dark version.</p><p>As a result of introducing features that utilize the day and night cycle, its settings page has been moved to its own separate section to expose it more clearly and to emphasize the fact that it’s being used by different features other than Night Light.</p><p>Dynamic wallpapers and other features that depend on day and night cycle will be able to utilize the configured cycle times to allow a more dynamic experience on your desktop. To learn more about other changes, press this button.</p> <a class="" href="https://blogs.kde.org/2025/07/12/this-week-in-plasma-tablet-dials-and-day/night-cycles/#plasma-650-1" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Learn more</a> <p><a href="https://www.pexels.com/photo/woman-in-pink-sweater-using-laptop-3764402/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Photo by Andrea Piacquadio</a></p><p><span></span></p><p><a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/cycle/" target="_blank">#Cycle</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/day-night/" target="_blank">#DayNight</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/kde/" target="_blank">#KDE</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/kde-plasma/" target="_blank">#KDEPlasma</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/kde-plasma-6/" target="_blank">#KDEPlasma6</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/kde-plasma-6-5/" target="_blank">#KDEPlasma65</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/news/" target="_blank">#news</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/plasma/" target="_blank">#Plasma</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/plasma-6/" target="_blank">#Plasma6</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/plasma-6-5/" target="_blank">#Plasma65</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/settings/" target="_blank">#Settings</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/tech/" target="_blank">#Tech</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/technology/" target="_blank">#Technology</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/update/" target="_blank">#update</a></p>

Magitian<p><span>I'm totally awestruck about the level of </span><i><span>continuity</span></i><span> one can find using 2 simple tools - Scrcpy and KDE Connect. <br><br>Scrcpy seems to fit the idea of an "all-in-one" solution better, with shared clipboard access, screen and camera mirroring. KDE Connect appears more apt for multimedia and notification mirroring. <br><br>Does one really need to purchase expensive products from Apple and get locked up in that walled garden? FOSS solutions exist, and often provide almost every single feature a locked-down propreitary implementation would. <br><br>What I've come to wholeheartedly appreciate:<br>- bidirectionally shared clipboards<br>- bidirectional dev (mic, camera, files)<br>- notification and MPRIS support<br>- near-native performance<br><br>What I'd like to see (wishful thinking):<br>- ability to answer calls from computers over either utility<br><br>Combined with cloud-based services, continuity should almost equal the Apple ecosystem's performance.<br><br></span><a href="https://fedia.social/tags/android" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#android</a><span> </span><a href="https://fedia.social/tags/linux" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#linux</a><span> </span><a href="https://fedia.social/tags/foss" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#foss</a><span> </span><a href="https://fedia.social/tags/kdeconnect" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#kdeconnect</a><span> </span><a href="https://fedia.social/tags/gsconnect" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#gsconnect</a><span> </span><a href="https://fedia.social/tags/gnome" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#gnome</a><span> </span><a href="https://fedia.social/tags/kde" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#kde</a><span> </span><a href="https://fedia.social/tags/scrcpy" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#scrcpy</a></p>
