Not a bad mix, but the surprise item is apples and I had just bought some apples earlier today. No matter though as I bought Empire ones and these are slightly bruisey Macintosh ones. Will find a use for them.</p>

Ross of Ottawa<p>We seem to be doing an alternate weeks thing our <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/OddBunch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OddBunch</span></a> subscription lately. So we're back in for this week.</p><p>I just checked the menu – looks like I'll substitute the peppers for something else but otherwise it looks appealing.</p>

Didn't notice the arrival as I was wailing away on a delayed <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/saturdayMorningGuitar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>saturdayMorningGuitar</span></a> session. </p><p>I see we have an unexpected pile of Mandarin oranges in there. Must be due to my feedback last delivery that the oranges didn't show up. Ha! Nice recovery. </p><p>Also substitute of grapefruit for the otherwise scheduled peppers. We're well positioned in the fruit department this week</p>

Ross of Ottawa<p>Yay - this week's <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/OddBunch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OddBunch</span></a> has finally move on with the cucumbers and grapes. </p><p>I mean we like both of those, but it felt a bit like a firehose hitting us with unlimited cukes and grapes for a while there.</p><p>Watch - the "surprise item" will be their popular grape and cucumber medley!</p>

They've been incl cucumbers and grapes every week, and we were a bit tired of those by mid March. This week they were intended *again* but I did some substitution reqs to change it up.</p><p>They must load all boxes then adjust, cuz they left in some cukes, a few grapes and green peppers which I'd asked to drop, but I still got the requested items. A hefty box this week! </p><p>lol - they probably just need to get rid of things sometimes.</p>
Ross of Ottawa<p>On the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/OddBunch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OddBunch</span></a> fruit/veg-box front, we've skipped the last two weeks due to overdosing on grapes and cucumbers. </p><p>Looks like our old friends grapes and cukes are in the next menu too, so I've gone the substitution route this time, and will get a box come the weekend.</p><p>I've missed the Saturday surprise when the box arrives, but it was also nice to pop into ProduceDepot again and share some love with their bottom line.</p>

I seem to live in the same top-level postal code (K2G) as the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/oddBunch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>oddBunch</span></a> people, and their veg delivery boxes are collecting in my garage. </p><p>They already re-use cardboard boxes - they're always labelled as chocolate bars and candies, presumably from some candy distributor. </p><p>I hope I can drop my collection of 15 or 20 boxes off for another go-around rather than send them to recycling. </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ReduceReuseRecycle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ReduceReuseRecycle</span></a></p>

Short on warning text messages this week. </p><p>Had just walked in the door and got a text – finally, I thought. So I checked to see when it was due. It said instead "delivered." What? </p><p>Turned around and it was there. Magic!</p><p>Looks good - had substituted more potatoes to replace zucchini.</p>

Seems slightly larger than usual but I asked for potatoes to be swapped for a second asparagus. And I got potatoes anyway. Maybe they forgot to take them out or maybe potatoes were also the surprise ingredient 🤷♂️</p><p>Quality is good overall. A few nicks on the zucchini skins. A few of the grapes are starting to go brown but not many. The asparagus is slightly spongy with hard ends. Trim the ends, stand in water. It'll be fine. <br>👍</p>
