Is there anything in #reaper I can do to get the audio latency lower when using track monitoring? Normally I'm behind studio monitors or using headphones and an amp but tonight it's just me and a finger drum pad. I'd like latency to be as low as it can get.

I've been helping a local hard-core band record their first EP. Now, I'm mixing and mastering it - which is fun but also stressful. I really want it to be as good as possible, but I'm still pretty new to this whole process. If anyone has some experience and would be willing to check out some tracks, give some feedback, I'd be really grateful.

Installed Linux MX on my 12 yo Lenovo Z500. After some tweaking, it records and playbacks just perfectly, at 96kHz and a still acceptable 8ms latency (4ms, if I would play 'normally').
My typical stress test (running ridiculously fast arpeggiators and changing params in real time) turned out so much fun, that it'll become my new project!
Thanks @mxlinux #Reaper, #Pianoteq, #SurgeXT for making it possible!
