Harvey Sandstrom<p>I appear to be more than halfway through Alien: Rogue Incursion, and I have notes:<br>• No teleport at all, but the walking speed is very slow compared to most games, and smooth. For me it's tolerable, barely. There is a vignette for running which is adequate.<br>• The interactions are very complicated and they never become natural. WildRikku<p>2025: Both my webcams run on a Raspberry Pi but Windows only recognizes them as a microphone. Well, I got the message. Time to try getting VR games to run on Linux again - once that works, I might be able to leave Windows behind. Alrecenk<p>SteamVR has a bug where if an app attempts to bind controls before <a href="https://peoplemaking.games/tags/SteamVR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SteamVR</span></a> finishes loading, the first one or two binds don't work. I've checked my engine, I'm like 85% sure it's in Steam itself. SteamVR load time seems to scale with number of games owned (not good), and Unity games load too slow to hit this bug anyway, so I might be the only person hitting it with 800 games on my account and my custom openXR engine that loads instantly. Anyway, I "fixed" it by adding a bunch of hand-tracking actions to the top of my controller_actions config. My engine supports hand-tracking, but the game doesn't use it, so I'm covered either way. I hate this solution.</p>
