@ausfestivus You're not alone — I'm absolutely fed up too. These strata fee hikes are outrageous, especially when the service (if you can call it that) is so mediocre. And yes, the cosy relationships with "preferred" tradies and insurers stink of kickbacks — there's no transparency and zero incentive to keep costs down.
Good on you for challenging the 21% increase. When inflation is sitting under 5%, how do they justify anything near that? It's a rort — and as you said, they rely on people being too overwhelmed or too tired to fight back. We shouldn't be trapped in a system where mediocrity gets rewarded with more money every year.

Według raportu opublikowanego przez serwis The Information, Apple TV+ generuje straty przekraczające 1 miliard dolarów rocznie.
Pomimo bazy około 45 milionów subskrybentów w 2024 roku, platforma pozostaje jedyną nierentowną usługą w portfolio Apple. Od debiutu w 2019 roku firma wydawała ponad 5 miliardów dolarów rocznie na treści, choć w zeszłym roku budżet został obcięty o około 500 milionów dolarów na polecenie dyrektora generalnego Tima Cooka.
Mimo strat, sytuacja nie wydaje się martwić Apple – gigant technologiczny o wartości blisko 4 bilionów dolarów zanotował w ostatnim roku fiskalnym dochód netto w wysokości 93,7 miliarda dolarów.
Apple TV+ stanowi jedynie ułamek przychodów z usług, które w pierwszym kwartale 2025 roku wyniosły 24,2 miliarda dolarów. Eksperci wskazują, że początkowe założenie serwisu nie polegało na rywalizacji o największą liczbę subskrybentów, lecz na zwiększeniu przywiązania użytkowników do ekosystemu Apple i promocji iPhone’ów.
Platforma, choć chwalona za jakość produkcji, jak „Severance” czy „Ted Lasso”, zdobywa mniej niż 1% miesięcznego czasu oglądania telewizji w porównaniu do liderów rynku, takich jak Netflix (8,2%) czy Max (1,2%; dane z rynku amerykańskiego).
W Polsce Apple TV+ według niedawno opublikowanych przez nas danych JustWatch jest piątym serwisem streamingowym na rynku. Usługa Apple nadal boryka się z ograniczonym marketingiem i mniejszą biblioteką treści w stosunku do konkurencji, co utrudnia konkurowanie w coraz bardziej zatłoczonym rynku streamingowym. Jednak dla Apple, które może sobie pozwolić na takie straty, serwis pozostaje długoterminową inwestycją – przynajmniej na razie. To akurat raczej dobra wiadomość dla, tych, którzy ze względu na ograniczony czas, stawiają na jakość a nie ilość.

A Richmond, B.C., man who was fined more than $11,000 for installing a heat pump in his strata lot had the sum reduced in June by a tribunal, which said the case involved an invalid agreement, an improper meeting and bylaw violations.
