Dear #TfL, your phrase “we apologise for the inconvenience it’s causing” is widely overused. No any living being on this planet would be able to feel that when using it so often. Do something about it!

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release:
#TfL confirms that NIBSbuses do not hold a London Service Permit (LSP) for route 269, and no changes have been made to relevant policies or enforcement. Although a 2023 investigation made no progress, TfL will now look into the matter urgently. The B186 in North Ockendon is not exempt from the LSP scheme. All public roads within Greater London require services not part of the official London bus network to operate with an LSP—no public roads are exempt.

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release:
A recent FOI request sought details on the "Red Bus Moquette," including any variants and specifications related to vehicle interiors, especially connections to the New Routemaster bus design. The request referenced a previous document mentioning the moquette and asked for any additional information held by TfL. #TfL responded that, aside from the already published document, they do not hold any further information or records relating to the Red Bus Moquette or its design influences. The request was received on 10 June 2025, and the response was issued on 3 July 2025.

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release:
Fare evasion across #TfL services cost an estimated £130m in 2022/23, £190m in 2023/24, and £188m in 2024/25. Data for 2025/26 is expected later this year. Fare evasion remains a major concern, with highest estimated rates in 2022/23 seen on Trams (8%) and the lowest on Buses (1.9%). TfL has deployed over 500 revenue inspectors using technology and intelligence-led operations to tackle the issue. Fare evasion is a criminal offence, punishable by fines of up to £1,000 and a criminal record. Successful prosecutions reached 15,436 in 2022/23, 18,570 in 2023/24, 13,823 in 2024/25, and 2,088 up to June 2025. TfL is working towards halving fare evasion by 2030, highlighting links between non-payment, antisocial behaviour, and wider criminality.

Today marks 25 years since the formation of the Greater #London Authority (GLA) and #Transport for London (TfL).
This follows 14 years after the abolition of the Greater London Council, with #TfL taking over from London Regional Transport, which had been under government control since 29 June 1984.
In addition, London Regional Transport retained responsibility for the London Underground, as its transfer was delayed until July 2003 due to its reorganisation under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), as part of the government's policy in an attempt to upgrade and modernise the system. London Underground Limited then became an indirect subsidiary of TfL. London Regional Transport was subsequently dissolved on 16 July 2003.
“Please mind the gap between the train and the platform” - seriously, even here where the platform is completely straight, in level with the train and there's a gap of like 2 cm? Shouldn't these announcements be a bit more targeted?
Or was this station reconstructed without updating the announcement?

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release:
The cost of the Freedom Pass scheme is calculated using the "Revenue Forgone" method, estimating the fare revenue that would have been received without the free travel concession. Journeys on all #TfL services, including buses and the London Underground, are counted with average fares applied per mode. Trips unlikely to occur without the scheme are excluded. Additional costs related to bus services are included.
For 2025/26, the Freedom Pass Concessionary settlement paid by London Boroughs was just under £308 million. Separate administrative costs for the scheme are borne by the boroughs and are not included in this figure.

#Transport for #London (TfL) is celebrating 20 years of OUTbound, its #LGBTQ+ colleague network, with staff and activist portrait posters across the network. Founded in 2005, OUTbound supports over 900 members and promotes LGBTQ+ inclusion across the transport industry.
TfL will join the Pride in London parade on 5 July with a bus and staff wearing T-shirts reflecting this year’s theme of activism and social change. It marks TfL’s 20th consecutive year supporting the event.
Those attending are advised to plan ahead using the #TfL Go app or Journey Planner, as central London will be busy and some stations may be exit-only.
Posters highlight contributions from staff and organisations such as Switchboard, ACT UP, and Lady Phyll. TfL also continues to promote the reporting of hate crime and remains committed to the Mayor’s vision of eliminating identity-based hate in the capital.
