Do you know if anyone is working on a c or c++ tc "port" atm?
i made a #TidalCycles completion package for #Emacs. it provides sample names when typing inside a string, and Haskell identifiers otherwise :) https://codeberg.org/pulu/tidal-completion.el
Turbo-Garden
Fresh from the soil, this noisy little sibling of The Garden slaps your ears (gently?).

This is everything I could never get out of #sonicpi: https://strudel.cc/#JDogbm90ZSgiW34gWzxbZDMsYTMsZjRdITIgW2QzLGJiMyxnNF0hMj4gfl1dKjIiKQouc291bmQoImdtX2VsZWN0cmljX2d1aXRhcl9tdXRlZCIpLmRlbGF5KC41KQoKJDogc291bmQoImJkIHJpbSwgLSBoaCAtIC0iKS5iYW5rKCJSb2xhbmRUUjcwNyIpLmRlbGF5KC41KQoKJDogbigiPDQgWzNAMyA0XSBbPDIgMT4gMyA0IDJdIH4%2BIikKLnNjYWxlKCJENDptaW5vciIpLnNvdW5kKCJnbV9hY2NvcmRpb246MiIpCi5yb29tKDIpLmdhaW4oLjQpCgokOiBuKCJbMCBbfiAwXSA0IFszIC0gNF0gWzAgfl0gWzAgfl0gPDAgMj4gfl0vMiIpCi5zY2FsZSgiRDI6bWlub3IgRDM6bWlub3IiKQo%3D #tidalcycles #javascript #music #coding
Just found this. She's coding that stuff with something called strudel.cc, which I had no idea existed. My mind is blown. I love it!
I did a Strudel workshop yesterday and it's now become a thing where I invite all the participants (12ish in this case) to jam in flok at the end. It was a beautiful noisy mess!
today (thanks to augustss fixing some MicroHs bugs) I managed to get tidal-core working in MicroHs!
this is just the pattern language, not including live scheduler, OSC message sending, etc.
The next step is to combine this toot with previous toot and have a Tidal/Haskell thing running inside a web browser. But there's a lot of rest of owl before that will do anything useful.
I pushed my branch to Microsoft Github for ease of review:
https://github.com/claudeha/Tidal/tree/topic-microhs-compat
Also, the other day I discovered livecoded #splittercore. It's as simple as setting your bpm (or 'cps' values) or your rhythm divider to some ridiculously high number in #TidalCycles and voilà: magnificient, unlistenable bursts of sound.
hey to new ppl finding this account just wanted to share a sweet moment i had this week teaching a musician friend some strudel stuff!
he picked it up crazyyy fast – i feel like the most efficient way to teach someone with a background in music is to ask them what sound they want to get out of the software and then show (or figure out) how to do that with code
It’s pretty rare, but yesterday I played in 3 live coding jams!
Here’s a cinematic piece made on Estuary using MiniTidal (a language I hadn’t used in a long time).
I'm excited to share a new blog post about the Pluguzu plugin I made with #Haskell to integrate #tidalcycles in my DAW:) https://midirus.com/blog/haskell-foreign-library-dpf
made a cover of radiohead’s “all i need” using strudel! first time trying out the arrange function – went for a synthy, cinematic vibe with this one

sampled a fridge into an industrial beat using strudel (clipping/volume warning LOL)
notes from tuesdays Algorave Helsinki meetup are now up! featuring audio robotics brainstorming, exponential rhythms in Tidal and SuperCollider, and weird Max4Live patches https://pulusound.fi/blog/algorave-helsinki-meetup-2025-05-06 #Algorave #LiveCoding #SuperCollider #TidalCycles
Today I tried controlling the Mainbow synth with TidalCycles @tidalcycles. only d1, d2 and d3 are making noise. Everything else is patterning the visuals, alongside modulation on the synth itself.
What I like is that this approach keeps everything in time to the music. Plus, if I have any other devices or software that uses Ableton Link for clock and sync then it'll be in time with them too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_Q-IIcz2TM
Getting ready for this weekend's #livecoding set at TRAUM in Antwerp. Some #tidalcycles, some #modularsynth. Let's see what we can do with this.
