Windows 10 may very well be the last Windows OS that I ever run on any computer I own. I have never used Windows 11 and have been holding off upgrading as long as possible due to concerns like this.

I even have a Microsoft account, but it's the principle of the thing. Who actually owns the technology I use?

I have been tinkering with Linux off and on for nearly 20 years, with some long stints using various distros as my daily driver.

If Microsoft is going to be this way, so be it. I can get along just fine without them.
