TIL that the reason I can't access a website on my home LAN with Firefox or Vivaldi is that it is macOS that prevents that, not the browser!
Go to System Settings / Privacy * Security / Local Network and allow the browser.
Found on the #Vivaldi forum. https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/98713/this-site-can-t-be-reached-when-trying-to-reach-anything-on-local-network/5
I have a PinePhone and a PinePhone Pro. They are fun to play with but the original PinePhone is slow. The Pro is much snappier. I am not demanding as far as phones go, I mainly do not wish to be tracked by the OS or the apps. As I am most familiar with debian Linux, mobian with phosh on the PinePhones works for me.
The main issues for me are lack of support for the built in cameras and poor battery life. The PinePhones can be made to sleep as a battery saving strategy and *should* wake up to an incoming call.
There are issues using Vivaldi (stable or snapshot) on the PinePhone. The touch interface support stops working after a few seconds. The address bar buttons and other UI buttons/controls stop working even though you can still type in addresses.
The Pro is much better in that respect and you can use Vivaldi for maybe an hour at a time without the touch support stalling. Restarting Vivaldi is the workaround if the touch interface ceases to respond. That or using keyboard navigation. Or attaching a mouse.
I looked at both Murena and Fairphone phones. The downside is that inevitably you will end up installing Android apps on them. I do not know to what degree app telemetry is blocked on de-Googled Android OSs.

Access passwords you’ve saved in Vivaldi on iOS directly from your iPhone’s home screen.
In addition to auto-filling login credentials on websites you’re browsing in the Vivaldi browser, you can auto-fill them in other apps on your iPhone and iPad. One way to view your saved passwords is to go to Settings in Vivaldi and find them there, but you can also add a widget to the home screen to get to them with one tap.
To add the Passwords Manager widget:
Antonio Vivaldi — In furore iustissimae irae, RV 626: I. Allegro
Sandrine Piau
Ottavio Dantone
Accademia Bizantina
Customizing Vivaldi is like decorating your gaming setup… but for the internet.

- 30 minutes and 613 kCalories (if Suunto is to be trusted) on the stationary bike, and I didn’t even get interrupted
- started to set up the #Vivaldi browser on my computer and phone
- down a couple more pounds, also considering tracking my weight in stone from now on so I sound helalthier

My journey towards digital independence from the US continues: I am now a happy user of #Vivaldi
I really like this browser made in Norway : it's fast, it's nice and highly customizable. Plus, it comes with a #Proton VPN integration. Oh, and if you create an account, they give you immediate access to their #Mastodon instance!
Congrats @Vivaldi !
Continuing my Linux migration series—this time with browsers.
I love Arc Browser, but no Linux support.
Zen Browser was solid, but some of my key extensions are Chrome-only.
Now testing Vivaldi—it’s fast, polished, maybe too feature-packed?
Got a favorite Chromium browser for Linux? Let me know!
(Skipping Brave—still feels kinda shady.)

Browser Blues
A few years ago I went on a journey. A journey to find a new favorite web browser that wasn’t called chrome. I found one. It was… basically… ya know… chrome without actually being chrome. I settled on Vivaldi. I like it. I put it on my MacBook Pro, and my personal Windows desktop box, and my work laptop (just for personal stuff like my personal email and… ya know… this blog) and as soon as it was available I also put it on my iPhone and my iPad.
Yesterday the company I work for updated its list of approved applications and Vivaldi was not on it. Boo. In order to comply with the rules, I had to give it up on that machine. Firefox is on the list though, so I have brought that back for my personal use (while we all use Chrome for work use).
It is fine. No complaints about Firefox here it’s just… not the browser I want to use.
You know, it’s all fine and good and everything is okay and the universe isn’t spiraling down the drain and heading for the sewer. Yeah, that has nothing to do with web browsers it’s just… you know… blah. Boo.
Here’s a couple of pictures of a cat because even though the universe is collapsing into crap, cats are still fuzzy and cute and adorable.

Tip #683
Choose between a playfully dynamic or a fixed accent color for your browser theme.
Do you prefer your browser theme’s accent color to reflect the website you’re on or do you want it to stay the same no matter which site you’re on?
To make your decision:
That's pretty impressive.
I actually wanted to settle on Waterfox or Zen, but the speed advantage of @Vivaldi is undeniable.
What a cool browser.
Are there any tips/settings for beginners?
