I started another sapphic book titled "I Really Do" by Emily K Hardy and so far I'm really liking it. It's really sweet.

There are two main characters... Brooke and Anna. And like the last book I just finished a few days ago ( Come Fly with Me) the two main characters are in a fake relationship because of a situation one of them is in where it would be beneficial to have a partner.

Weird huh... that i've come up on a book like that again. Anyway, I'm about 60 pages in and so far it's achingly sweet. Anna and Brooke are acquaintances from Brooke going to Anna's restaurant once a week for about a year with two friends. It's there that her friends kind of play match-maker for this needed fake relationship and Anna agrees to it.

And so they begin trying to build the elements of a relationship so it seems believable like texting each other and asking questions, dinner date out, dinner date at home, selfies together... even coming with pet names for each other.

There are moments where it feels like they're both committed to the bit... deep, method acting but there are other times...

There are other times where it gets so real it hurts.

Thought y'all might like to see how my stitching looks before adding backing to my work. After I finish stitching (I used the two needle method for this project) I trim the excess pellon and burn the edges to make it neater (That way you don't risk trimming too close and cutting stitches). Then I add the backing, bar pin, and edging, and all done!

My reading has been a little off because of so much else going on for me but i was able to start another book a couple of weeks ago and just finished this morning.

It was SO sweeet! 🥰
"Fly with Me" is the debut novel by Andie Burke. It's a sapphic novel that has two main characters Olive Murphy, an ER nurse who is a little scattered... second guesses herself a little. And Stella Soriana, a commercial airline pilot who is very Type A, go-getter. They meet after a passenger has a medical emergency while Olive is on her first ever flight that was being piloted by Stella.

It's very rom-commy, super sweet, kinda corny, touches on some heavy stuff too like (depression, death, misogyny, family dynamics, chosen family. It's a fun and quick read, the characters were likeable although the trajectory of their "fake relationship" was arrrgh... just kiss already and tell each other you wanna be together!
*sigh*...
makes me wish I had a girlfriend. 🫠🫠🫠

There were a couple of spicy scenes toward the end of the book that were really sweet. I thought it was so... there was lots of consent, is-this-okay's, communication, tenderness, and just...

You should read it.

p.s. honorable mention about this book... the author has a very minor but integral character who is a trans woman. ☺️
