Reminder to the people on that a LOT of staffs use that as an early-warning system, and most of us know to ignore the drama and pettiness that shows up on there. You're not "making a stand", you're getting up in front of all the and screaming, "Look at me, I'm disruptive!", and that's going to get you on the bad side of a lot more mods than you think.

Might want to not do that.

If you want to criticize FediBlock, by all means do, but if you want people to listen, do so with actual criticisms and maybe suggestions, and maybe figure out how people are actually using it.

Yes, there are a lot of people who use it to infight and purity-police. Everyone who looks at it knows that at this point. You haven't figured out some miraculous truth, you are talking about a reality that we've just accepted and learned to compensate for: when you use a public hashtag, people are going to post on it, so we don't assume it's always worthy of the tag.

This is literally why I curated a CSV of our blocklist.

But shitposting on the hashtag isn't doing anything but adding to the drama we have to sift through, and it's certainly not making you look like you're a positive addition to the broader community. I've ended up blocking a few people from TechHub's timeline after seeing them shitpost on there, because it makes me check to see if it's part of a pattern.

And for those who haven't realized, this is a subpost of a specific conversation, but it applies to everyone shitposting on the FediBlock tag.
