Delicate Arch in the Clouds
Arches National Monument, UT
I was having knee problems at the time and was unable to hike up to the arch. I drove a ways out the 4WD trail beyond the parking area and was able to get this photo using my longest lens. I will also own up to cloning out a few human figures from the photo.
@bosquebill Beautiful shot anyway! I never got a chance to make the hike to Delicate Arch, and in recent years we've been avoiding Moab because of the crowds. I still hope I get to take that hike some day.
@akkana Thanks. Yes, 2014 was the last time I visited Arches due to crowds. And the traffic through town is the worst! I don't travel in winter, but that would probably be a good time if it's mild or had a dusting of snow.
I saw it in februrary 2001 (sorry no photos) while snow was falling. It was beautiful, and there were only about 5 people (including myself and a friend) at any given spot in Arches.
