Cookie Codes
We’re migrated! It was a total shitshow behind the scenes but in the end the migration went through without much downtime I think. Cookie Codes
justmytoots.com is back up now that I’ve make some important changes following some valid privacy concerns.

The most important change is that the service is now explicitly opt-in! If you want your toots to show on the page, all you have to do is put a link to your own justmytoots page in your mastodon profile somewhere (see mine for example). If no link is found, the toots will not be shown.

If you have more concerns or questions just @ me or shoot me an issue over on the page’s GitHub: https://github.com/cookiemumbles/justmytoots.com

Cookie Codes
Heads up: justmytoots.com is going to have to migrate hosting providers because the current one is stopping altogether. The new server is set up and ready, but the domain needs to be transferred which can cause the service to be interrupted. I hope it won’t be noticeable, but it might be down for one or even a few hours I’m not sure how this works lol.

I think the problem is that the first letter of the url is capitalized. Try it like this and it should work:

https://justmytoots.com/@MaJ1@mastodonapp.uk

Cookie Codes
#JustMyToots hosting is down atm. I can’t even reach the backend, so there’s not much more I can do than wait it out. Hopefully it’ll be back up soon.

Cookie Codes
For anyone interested in the details:

A while back I added minimization stuff because the site was slow to load and even blinked because the code was split over multiple files. But to build this I had to run npm commands which i could not do automatically server-side. Long story short; i migrated to actually using node to serve the site now (with express.js). This was also causing the problems because my test server was migrated but the live server was in some sort of weird limbo that broke sometimes for no reason.

Can you tell this is not my field because of the mess I'm making? I'm learning though, I'm learning.

Cookie Codes
Okay so #JustMyToots is working more reliable now hopefully. Thank you for your patience and feedback!

Cookie Codes
#JustMyToots #Update
Today I've merged 2 new features:

1. Removing DMs from listing toots
If you've ever logged in and than took a look at your own JustMyToots page, you might have been shocked to notice DMs where listed there as well. This was because DMs are just toots with limited visibility, and by logging in you are able to see your own DMs. This is of course weird and doesn't have a use-case, so out they go.

2. Force Options support
If you go to your own page, toggle one or more of the options, then copy the url from the address bar and place that in your profile somewhere, the options in the url are then "forced" for your page. This means that anyone visiting your page can no longer change the setting that you configured. It then looks like this for example

Cookie Codes
So my server provider changed something which broke my entire setup for #JustMyToots.
But it's fixed now so the service is back up again.
Thanks to all who reported the error!

Cookie Codes
I don’t know if writing DamnFineToot in rust was a good idea, but at least I’m learning something I guess. All of this is so unintuitive still
