Yehor 🇺🇦<p>Have a nice Saturday everyone!<br /><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/beersofmastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>beersofmastodon</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Food" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Food</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/rest" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>rest</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/snacks" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>snacks</span></a></p>
Yehor 🇺🇦<p>The situation changed slightly after fixing tests, manual testing, and bug fixing.<br /><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/SoftwareDevelopment" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SoftwareDevelopment</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/bugfixing" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>bugfixing</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/refactoring" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>refactoring</span></a></p>
Yehor 🇺🇦<p>Definitely looks better from the front now. <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/cablemanagement" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>cablemanagement</span></a> in <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/homelab" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>homelab</span></a></p>
Yehor 🇺🇦<p>Finally something I’m more or less happy with. Should look better from the front )<br /><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/cablemanagement" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>cablemanagement</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/homelab" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>homelab</span></a></p>
Yehor 🇺🇦<p>Some mad skills required to do it right, I suppose. <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/cablemanagement" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>cablemanagement</span></a> is hard.<br /><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/homelab" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>homelab</span></a></p>
Yehor 🇺🇦<p>I just finished the first iteration of the big refactoring I was planning for a long time at work.<br />A nightmare for the reviewer, but the reviewer is me =)</p><p>I&#39;m wondering now what the relation is between the number of changed lines and the number of bugs I introduced...</p><p><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/work" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>work</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/job" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>job</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/SoftwareDevelopment" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SoftwareDevelopment</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Flutter" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Flutter</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/mobileDevelopment" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>mobileDevelopment</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/codereview" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>codereview</span></a></p>
Yehor 🇺🇦<p>Started Indiana Jones and the Grate Circle two days ago. This is a quality piece of software I need to say! Everything looks and feels polished, from textures to dialogues, from the plot to individual characters. Such a beautiful new story about an old and favorite hero. 10 snakes out of 10. Will recommend!<br /><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/xbox" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>xbox</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>gaming</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/IndianaJones" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>IndianaJones</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/IndianaJonesAndTheGrateCircle" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>IndianaJonesAndTheGrateCircle</span></a></p>
Yehor 🇺🇦<p>So I replaced my <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Proxmox" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Proxmox</span></a> fleet of mini PCs with a powerful <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TrueNAS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TrueNAS</span></a> I built myself and have something to say.</p><p>Sometimes <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Docker" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Docker</span></a> is the only option to <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/selfhost" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>selfhost</span></a> a service. And with Proxmox it will be a double virtualization - Docker inside a VM or LXC.</p><p>Sometimes you need the same storage attached to several services.</p><p>With TrueNAS you have no issues with that. You can have some services in Docker, some in LXCs and some in VMs. You can attach the same storage at least to Docker and LXC. TrueNAS is so much better for the <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/homelab" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>homelab</span></a> than Proxmox. IMHO at least.</p><p>I still have Proxmox for public services like the blog and Gitea.</p><p><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/homeserver" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>homeserver</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/selfhosted" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>selfhosted</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/selfhosting" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>selfhosting</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/selfhost" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>selfhost</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/diynas" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>diynas</span></a></p>
Yehor 🇺🇦<p>SAS controller in my <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TrueNAS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TrueNAS</span></a> was not fixed properly. It was holding only by PCIe slot and a wire giving me anxiety. Because the card itself was small enough for the <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Jonsbo" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Jonsbo</span></a> N1, but it’s backplate was huge.<br />I finally found a low-profile plate from another card and it fitted almost perfectly! No more anxiety because of unfixed hardware.<br /><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/anxiety" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>anxiety</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/pcbuild" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>pcbuild</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/pcbuilding" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>pcbuilding</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/serverbuild" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>serverbuild</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/hardware" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>hardware</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/diynas" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>diynas</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/homelab" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>homelab</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/jonsbon1" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>jonsbon1</span></a></p>
Yehor 🇺🇦<p>Top requests to my <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Zoraxy" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Zoraxy</span></a> instance for the last 30 days. A whole subnet belongs to <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Google" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Google</span></a>, and the other IP belongs to Hetzner. I was wondering why my Intel N100 <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Proxmox" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Proxmox</span></a> node gets so hot. Yehor 🇺🇦<p>Almost forgot to add this performance boost to my <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Jonsbo" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Jonsbo</span></a> N1 DIY NAS.</p><p>I think I can conclude that <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TheGRATEmigration11" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TheGRATEmigration11</span></a> was successful. <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TrueNAS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TrueNAS</span></a> with *arr stack is up and running. My iso images are re-downloading, <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Plex" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Plex</span></a> transcoding performance is amazing.</p><p>I need to migrate some services from a mini PC to TrueNAS. I also need a reverse proxy for them. I also meed to set up a backup solution for TrueNAS… There is still a lot to do. As usual in the <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/homelab" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>homelab</span></a></p><p>But now I rest. Yehor 🇺🇦<p>The PSU for my <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/DIYNAS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DIYNAS</span></a> finally arrived and I’ve put everything together. Ready for the first launch. My biggest concern is HBA SAS controller. Will it work? I have total of seven storage drives connected. Yehor 🇺🇦<p>Using a usual &quot;tries and fails&quot; method, I figured out that to restore an entire system backup to <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Synology" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Synology</span></a> NAS, you need the exact amount of the same drives you had when doing a backup.</p><p>It turns out that <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Backblaze" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Backblaze</span></a> backups were not excessive.</p><p>So now my <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/SynologyNAS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SynologyNAS</span></a> is fully restored on SSD drives without 3rd party packages and works faster than ever.</p><p>And the <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/PSU" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>PSU</span></a> delivery is delayed, so my <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TrueNAS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TrueNAS</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/DIYNAS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DIYNAS</span></a> is still unfinished.</p><p>My wife started to suspect that we don&#39;t have a <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Plex" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Plex</span></a> server currently. Send help.</p><p><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TheGRATEmigration11" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TheGRATEmigration11</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/NAS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>NAS</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/homelab" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>homelab</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/homeserver" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>homeserver</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/selfhosted" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>selfhosted</span></a></p>

Yehor 🇺🇦<p>Drives inside the Jonsbo N1 are sliding up and down the rails with rubber rings (wheels?). That’s so cool!<br /><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TheGRATEmigration11" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TheGRATEmigration11</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/diynas" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>diynas</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/jonsbo" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>jonsbo</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/jonsbon1" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>jonsbon1</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/homelab" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>homelab</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/pcbuild" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>pcbuild</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/pcbuilding" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>pcbuilding</span></a></p>
