Don't get me wrong, I love and ran it for about 3 years before being forced to go back to . Coming back to it recently has been a great joy.

But the pain of installing and losing my entire run recently really broke me.

Linux is fun, but the installation of software is often a pain, and I can see the barrier it would have for even my technical friends. The other thing is the weird instability I sometimes experience. Something like my software working great and then just crashing for days without changing anything.

Overall, it is fun for a developer, but I sometimes miss the fire and forget the ease of use I had with Windows and 90% of my library.

Linux can definitely be a challenge. Personally I've found it more stable (fewer crashes) than Windows, but I have certainly run into significant non-crash problems.

Sorry you lost your factorio run. I play factorio some on linux, when my hands are up for it. Haven't had problems, but it doesn't recognize my desktop keyboard remappings

@Stark9837 For Factorio, doesn't Steam Cloud download your save file? If not, I'm sure you can Google where Proton puts the save files and copy your file from Windows, if you still have it
