This has been going on far longer than people realize. Regardless of how good Anker products may be this is the practice that turned me off of them nearly a decade ago when I ordered a great external battery and 6 months later I reordered a second one, from the same listing, I received a cheaper version that barely worked.
The days of Amazon being the best source of reviews is long over and the scams are everywhere and Amazon has little motivation to fix it because they still make a lot of money from these fake products.
