@Techmeme while I somewhat get what they're trying to do, this is simply controlling what some would say is the default and not taking responsibility. You don't need to use Google Chrome and in most cases never starts off as the default except on Android and Chromebooks. So many companies have made Chromium based browser, so use those. Edge for example is default on Windows and works perfectly fine.
