Mike In SD

Hi friends. I'm about 95% certain I want to buy a 2019-2023 Scrambler 1200.

I'm still torn on XC vs XE a bit. The XC is really all I need, if I'm honest with myself. But having the 6 axis IMU and the look of those gold forks is really calling to me. The extra height of the XE is concerning a bit, but I'm 6' (183cm) ans already daily ride a Multistrada with an 860mm seat height (-10 from the XE)

Help me out here. Any real cons to either bike?

@mikey_in_sd I think you'll get a better response in a Triumph riders forum than here on Mastodon. I don't have experience with these bikes, aside from liking them from what I have seen :-)

I mean... no doubt you'll find a lot of folks saying they like either one, I think you really need to just test ride each and see which you like the most.

@mikey_in_sd @arnowi honesty, you’ll be fine with the seat height

@rachel @arnowi Probably. I've done a little more reading since I posted this, and am leaning more XC. I've read a few things from people that have ridden both and noted that the XE handles a little odd on the road because of the long travel and longer wheelbase.

If I was looking to use this as a true adventure bike and not a comfy way to get the 1200HP engine, I'd probably go XE without a worry.

Honestly, I still look longingly at the new 2025 Speed Twin 1200, but it is out of budget.
