Publicly, I've been a performant dev most of my career - TPS driven metrics - so anything that takes resources away from the app is generally "bad"

My private opinion is that containers are a crutch abused by IT

Well, what I like about Flatpak is that it restricts what apps are allowed to do. No phoning home unless I allow it, etc.
