The self-supported bicycle race across Europe Transcontinental Race No 11 (#TCRNo11) has started. You can follow it here:

Apparently I'm going to Munich to do some cycling in September:
https://iris.cc/stories/the-weekender-oberland-edition
Now I need to find some place to stay before and after the event - it's 10hrs train trip, so it would be difficult to travel the same day of start/end day.
I would love to hear some recommendations about how to pack a tent also (I do have an ultralight tent, but I have heard it does not combine well with bikepacking).

Some more interesting insights!
Only 5.3% of the 151 bikes still use rim brakes — almost extinct!
Two-thirds prefer 2x drivetrains, one-third stick to 1x, and there’s one rare 3x setup.
For luggage:
74% use saddle packs from various brands - what the Germans call an “Arschrakete” ass rocket
The other 24% all use the same expensive proprietary luggage rack system.
Two have classic racks, and two use traditional saddle bags.

Top brands spotted: Canyon, Specialized – but the field is full of surprises.
15.9% are riding #SteelIsReal
57.6% rely on electricity to shift – no juice, no shift!
Tire widths? – there’s no standard in the ultra world.
A wild mix of race machines and pack mules – no two bikes the same.
