I was very pleased with myself when I finished painting this watercolour cabbage, but I was totally surprised by how much other people liked it. I put it up on Redbubble, and cabbage-print socks have proved to be weirdly popular. I guess some people really just like vegetables.

Artist Emily van Lidth de Jeude stands smiling on the lawn in front of her home-studio holding a giant bull-kelp sculpture made of green camouflage tarp and red Tuck tape.
