Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) has confirmed that he met today with #WrongfullyDeported man #KilmarAbregoGarcia in #ElSalvador today. The two shared a meal, and the Senator was able to relay messages to and from Abrego Garcia's wife and family.

Van Hollen had earlier announced he was heading to El Salvador to meet with Abrego Garcia. Initially, the Senator attempted to visit Abrego Garcia in the prison, but was turned away. Thursday afternoon, he posted photos of himself and Mr. #AbregoGarcia to social media.

Interestingly, in the photos, Mr. Abrego Garcia (said to be a fan of Chicago sports teams) is wearing a #KansasCityChiefs hat.

I can't be the only person who had no idea that #MattGaetz created an official "El Salvador Caucus" in the U.S. Congress last year and it just so happens to be full of most of that body's biggest cranks (#LaurenBoebert, #MikeLee, #NancyMace, #TimBurchett) and most corrupt reps (#AndyOgles, who made some “interesting” campaign finance moves at the crypto industry’s favorite bank that he and George Santos chose to hold their campaign money).
