Smart desks are changing the way students learn in class! These cool desks can adjust height, connect to devices, and even respond to movement. Some come with touchscreens or lights to help with focus. They make learning more fun, active, and personalized. As schools move toward digital classrooms, smart desks help students stay engaged and comfortable. It’s furniture that thinks with you!

About 20 years ago I remember the #EdTech world was mesmerised by #MetaData, #LearningObjects & #eLearning standards. I went to a workshop run by James Dalziel and (I think) Sandy Britain at the National Library on a new #LearningDesign tool. Amazingly, the Learning Activity Management System (LAMS) is still around today!

lamsfoundation.orgLAMS FoundationLAMS is a new tool for producing online collaborative learning activities. It provides teachers with a visual authoring environment for creating sequences of learning activities.

Bionic feedback devices help kinesthetic learners—those who learn best by moving and doing—get real-time responses through touch or motion. These smart tools can guide hand movements, posture, or actions, helping students learn better through physical activity. As tech grows, schools are using these devices to support hands-on learning in science, sports, and even music. It’s a fun and modern way to learn by doing!

🧵\0. Just updated Ordböcker v5.7.2 to the Chrome Web Store. It’s still pending review. Of course Firefox version is ready. This update includes more unit tests for improved robustness and an optimized UI for word definitions when double-clicked, and more👇

github.com/pnlpal/dictionariez

Of course, showing a word’s definition with a double-click on any webpage is the most important and convenient feature of a dictionary browser extension like this. What makes Ordböcker stand out isn’t just that it's free, but its simplicity and the thoughtful design behind it. For example:

Any dictionary can show you the definition of 'fart' in Swedish, but can it compare to the English fart? What’s the Swedish equivalent of the English 'fart'? Since Swedish & English share many similar-looking words with very different meanings, this kind of comparison can really make you think.
